Desert Rose is a Gypsum formation, made up of gypsum and barite. This stunning and unusual formation is usually found in desert like conditions, and is formed as a result of the evaporation of water. As water evaporates, the dissolved gypsum becomes oversaturated and starts to precipitate out of the solution. As it does, it forms crystals within cavities or between layers of sediment. These crystals grow slowly over time, layer by layer, creating the characteristic rosette or flower-like structure.
Metaphysical Meaning: Desert Rose may considered a symbol of strength and resilience, embodying the ability to thrive in harsh conditions. Some also believe that Desert Roses carry protective energies and promote mental clarity, making them popular in metaphysical practices.
